Precautions to be Taken at Intersections

Most of the accident happens at intersections, other road is merging or there is a median opening. The drivers should keep the following precautions at the intersection:

• Slow down when approaching an intersection, pedestrian crossing or roadside
• Ensure the safety of other road users before entering and intersection
• At intersections, vehicles coming from the right shall have the right of way, but this does not apply if: the intersection is regulated by signals by an authorized person, traffic lights or mandatory traffic signals
• A motor vehicle shall not enter an intersection if the traffic at the intersection has come to a standstill even though the signal to proceed on the major road has been given.
