Level Crossing
- Rail borne vehicles have the first right of way at all unmanned level crossings.
- The driver has to slow down the vehicle on reaching the level crossing and he will not block the way by parking the vehicle inside the crossing.
- No motor vehicle shall enter the level crossing when the barrier starts falling or the red light signal is given at the protected level crossing.
- Motor vehicles shall enter the crossing when train carriages cease to be visible.
- School buses, freight vehicles, tractor trolleys carrying goods, vehicles carrying hazardous, inflammable materials shall stop at the unmanned level crossing and the attendant shall ensure that there are no engines or rail wagons coming from either side.
- In case the attendant is not available, the driver shall safely bring the vehicle to a halt and shall ensure that there are no engines or wagons coming from either side.
