Offences and Penalties – Part III
Sec 184 - Driving Dangerously: Imprisonment 6 to 12 months or fine from Rs. 1,000/- to Rs. 5,000/- or both.
Sec 185 - Drunk Driving: Imprisonment up to 6 months or fine of Rs. 10,000/- or both.
Sec 190(1) - Using vehicle in unsafe condition: Fine of Rs. 1,500/- and if causing bodily injury or damage to property, imprisonment up to 3 months or fine of Rs. 5,000/- or both
Sec 197(1) - Drives away any motor vehicle without having consent of the owner: Imprisonment up to 3 months or fine of Rs. 5,000/- or both.
Sec 199A - Offences by Juveniles:
- To be punished as per the provisions of this act.
- Owner shall be punishable with imprisonment up to 3 years and with fine of Rs. 25,000/-.
- Registration of motor vehicle used in the commission of the offence shall be cancelled for a period of 12 months.
- Juvenile shall not be eligible to be granted a driving license until such juvenile has attained age of 25 years.
