Signs and Signals – How Do They Differ?

There are two categories of Traffic Control Devices which are Traffic Signs and Traffic Signals.

The primary difference between signs and signals can be understood very easily. In terms of a sign no activity is involved or in other words its state remains the same. They are installed to give some sort of indication to the road user that may be a regulation, warning or information.

On the other hand, when we use the term signal it indicates state which involves some change or a manoeuvre for example on or off. They are dynamic in nature not static.
