Road Markings

Transverse Markings

Transverse Bar Markings are provided across the carriageway for traffic control with broken lines, single / double continuous lines. The Transverse Marking shall always be accompanied with corresponding Road Sign. It establishes traffic control and its compliance is vital.

Examples of Transverse Markings are STOP and GIVEWAY markings.

A set of six lines across the road are called as Transverse Bar Markings. They are used to warn road users to slow down the speed.
