Mandatory Signs

Mandatory road signs are usually have circular shape and these signs give order which must be followed by every road user. Violation of these road signs is a punishable traffic offence. There are three categories of Mandatory Road Signs which are follows:

  1. Operational Control

    These signs have RED circular border, white background and black symbol. These signs prescribe limit of an operation or manoeuvre. Going beyond the prescribed limit is termed as a traffic offence.
  2. Prohibitory

    These signs have RED border with a diagonal bar, white background and black symbol. Ring with. The action denoted by the symbol is completely prohibited.
  3. Compulsory

    These signs have BLUE background and white symbol. The action denoted by symbol gives a positive order which must be followed compulsorily.
