Vulnerable Road Users

Vulnerable Road Users (VRUs) are defined as non-motorised road users, such as pedestrians and cyclists as well as motorcyclists and persons with disabilities or reduced mobility and orientation.

With respect to non-motorized road users, drivers must give more attention when they see the following persons on the road.

  • Children
  • Elderly
  • Specially Abled
  • Women with Children

It is duty of every driver to give first right of way to the vulnerable road users.
