What is Speeding?

Speeding is termed as driving above the posted speed limit or driving at inappropriate speed, which is too fast for the prevailing road conditions, but within the limits. It is useful to establish a working definition of speeding for the purposes of police assessment of the role of speed in a crash. Driving a vehicle at high speed:

1. The risk of occurring of a serious crash increases
2. You approach the hazard faster
3. Have less time to react and control the vehicle
4. The magnitude of damage also increases
