Maximum Speed Limit in India

Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India has notified the Maximum Speed Limit vide Notification No. S. O. 1522(E) dated 06th April 2018 for different categories of road and according to the type of vehicle. This doesn’t imply that one is free to drive a vehicle at the maximum speed limit specified in this notification. This means for a particular type of vehicle, the speed on specified category of road cannot be posted beyond the limit specified in this notification. For every road the road user is required to comply the posted speed limit on that road.
