Crossing Road Safely
Steps for Crossing Road Safely
4. If Traffic is Coming, Let it Pass
Pedestrians have first right of way on the road. It is duty of drivers to slow down their vehicle when they see a pedestrian crossing the road. That does not offers freedom to pedestrians to use road irresponsibly.
If you see coming traffic do not enter the road. It may be the case that you have spotted the approaching vehicle but the driver might have not seen you. Before entering the road follow the given points:
- Look all around again and listen.
- Do not cross until there is a safe gap in the traffic and you are certain that there is plenty of time.
- Remember, even if traffic is a long way off, it may be approaching fast.
