Crossing Road Safely
Steps for Crossing Road Safely
2. Stop Just Before the Kerb
Kerb is the raised edge adjoining the road surface or the pavement. The moulded block used to make kerb is known as kerb stone. The purpose of the kerb is to keep vehicles away from that point. Usually, footpaths are made alongside the road which are supported by kerb. The kerb stones are generally painted black and white.
Before starting to cross a road, just stop at the kerb and take the following precautions:
- Do not get too close to the traffic. Keep back from the edge of the road but make sure you can still see approaching traffic.
- Give yourself time to have a good look all around.
