Rights of a Good Samaritan
Some people think that helping a road crash victim will create problem for them and they will be called or inquired by police and will be harassed. This is not true. For protection of Good Samaritans, the Government has made certain laws under the ambit of which no case is registered against them and they are free to go after providing necessary help to the victim.
A Good Samaritan has the following rights:
- He is not liable for any civil or criminal case.
- He is allowed to leave the hospital immediately.
- He is not forced to furnish his personal details like name, address or phone number etc.
- He is not compelled to deposit money for treatment of the victim.
- He is suitability rewarded by the Government to encourage other citizens.
