Safe Walking

Precautions to be Taken for Safety

While using the road be very cautions. You should remember the following precautions:

  • Walk only the footpath. If there is no footpath, walk on the right hand side of the road so you can see the traffic coming towards you.
  • Walk one behind the other at turns or if there is a heavy traffic.
  • Be more careful if you can't see the road far ahead.
  • Be careful when you see crossing cycles, rickshaws and carts. They might be traveling slow but they do not have efficient braking system and can cause serious injuries.
  • Beware of the parked cars. Someone might suddenly open the car doors.
  • If a friend calls from the other side of the road, do not rush, watch for the traffic first and move ahead when it is safe.
  • Do not challenge or encourage friends to do anything risky on the road.
