Safe Walking
Precautions to be Taken for Safety
While using the road be very cautions. You should remember the following precautions:
- Walk only the footpath. If there is no footpath, walk on the right hand side of the road so you can see the traffic coming towards you.
- Walk one behind the other at turns or if there is a heavy traffic.
- Be more careful if you can't see the road far ahead.
- Be careful when you see crossing cycles, rickshaws and carts. They might be traveling slow but they do not have efficient braking system and can cause serious injuries.
- Beware of the parked cars. Someone might suddenly open the car doors.
- If a friend calls from the other side of the road, do not rush, watch for the traffic first and move ahead when it is safe.
- Do not challenge or encourage friends to do anything risky on the road.
