Safety in School Bus
School Bus Rules
The Government has set certain norms for School Buses which are required to be followed by bus owners. Their compliance is need to be monitored by them and School Administration. Some of the important norms are as follows:
- Exclusive school buses are painted in Golden Yellow colour on the exterior so that they can be clearly distinguished and recognizable.
- A sign showing a school bus boy and girl is painted or fixed on the rear and front of the School Bus.
- A retractable footstep is installed which emerges at the lower level when the door is open.
- Top edges of the seat bars are adequately cushioned to minimize head injury in case of impact.
- Seats are provided with side handles to provide grips for children.
- Behind the seat two soft handles at a convenient height are provided for the children to grip when necessary.
- Door grab rail as per design are installed on the right side of bus entrance for easy embarking and disembarking.
