Introduction

In the previous module we learnt about safe walking. Crossing road safely is the next step we need to learn after safe walking because at many occasions we are required to cross road. Without knowing the right method of crossing the road may result into a road crash and injure us.

It is also important to learn about crossing the road safely because all roads are not similar. They may have a single or multiple lanes. Secondly, the traffic conditions on different types of roads may also be different. Some roads may have light or moderate traffic whereas some roads may have heavy traffic.

The third important thing that make roads very dangerous is the speed the traffic travels on the road. On highways and expressways, the traffic moves at very high speed. Anticipation of speed of vehicles moving on to the road is also important while crossing the road.
